Spiced Rum Sauce

A delicious sauce with notes of vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg. 

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter, unsalted (1 stick)
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 2 tablespoons spiced rum
  • 3/4 teaspoons ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Whisk butter and brown sugar in a saucepan over medium heat until melted and smooth.    Add cream, spiced rum and cinnamon.    The sauce will bubble up, but keep whisking the sauce until it thickens - about 5 minutes.    Makes 1 1/2 cups.
