This easy dump and bake cobbler is an effortless back pocket recipe that everyone should have. This is one of my sister’s favorite dump & bake recipes since it’s all mixed in one bowl. She’s been making it for years and it’s super simple and tasty. Since this is more of a method and not a hard and fast recipe, you can change a few ingredients around and it will work. Don’t like peaches, use any other canned fruit or pie filling. Once it’s all in the oven, summer elves do their magic and you end up with an easy and addictive dessert! I like to serve it with vanilla ice cream to cut the sweetness.
HOW I MADE IT
In one bowl, combine 3 cans of sliced peaches in their juice with 1/2 cup all-purpose flour, 1/2 cup granulated sugar, 1 Tablespoon ground cinnamon, 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg, 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves, a pinch of salt and 1/2 cup melted unsalted butter.
Pour the mixture in a buttered 9X13 inch baking dish. Sprinkle a box of Jiffy Cake Mix evenly over the peach mixture followed by an even layer of your favorite chopped nuts like pecans or walnuts. Finish with about 12 thin pats of unsalted butter. The butter will melt into the cake mix and create a delicious and crunchy topping.
Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for about 1 hour and 20-30 minutes or until golden and bubbly. You may need to cover with foil the last 30 minutes so the nuts don’t burn. Allow to cool and set for 15 minutes prior to serving. I love cobblers with a scoop of ice cream for that incredible bite of sweet goodness that’s creamy, crunchy and fruity.
This is so effortless, it can’t get any easier. This is perfect for any summertime gathering or a quick dessert for the family. Since this is made with canned peaches, it can be enjoyed year-round. Cobblers can be eaten warm, at room temperature and even cold. It freezes and reheats well too. Whenever we make one, it doesn’t last very long.
I hope you enjoy this delicious dessert and make it a family favorite. Enjoy! If you give it a try, please leave a comment below.
