Every year my cousin hosts a Halloween party for her grandson and we have such a great time at his party! Did I tell you he’s five? We eat, drink and carve pumpkins that are proudly displayed on their porch at the end of the evening – when it’s really dark and spooky and only the glow of the pumpkins illuminate the porch. That’s the highlight of the evening and his favorite part.
I wanted to share with you some of her amazing decorations and party ideas in the hopes of inspiring you at your next party.
She always welcomes her guests with a drink. This is a simple Kir Royale – champagne and Creme de Cassis topped with fresh berries in a red sugared flute glass. I love the silver claw serving spoons she has. They are so unique and perfect for this occasion. Chips, dips and charcuterie boards rounded out the table that was beautifully covered by a lace web design table cloth. I didn’t take a picture of the chandelier, but it was stunning. She even had a Halloween tree in the family room with Halloween themed ornaments and garland.
Over the years she has acquired many of her one of a kind finds at estate sales and thrift stores. She’s an avid collector with a keen eye. I’m a kid in a candy land every time I visit.
Spooky cupcakes and a chocolate dirt cake rounded out a pizza party – remember he’s five and he had some input in the final menu. The remains of a former sommelier managed the adult beverage tub on ice.
How do you do Halloween? Do you dress up? Host a party or just hand out candy to trick-or-treaters? I love to dress up and get together with friends and family! However you celebrate, may it be in good fun and spirits.
