Palm Sunday marks the beginning of Holy Week, Jesus’s triumphant entrance in Jerusalem and the Sunday before Easter. It’s a very special day and as with most holidays, families gather around a table to break bread and celebrate.
While still adhering to social distancing guidelines, our Palm Sunday brunch was special, albeit small. The day was gorgeous – one of those rare sunny, cool and breeze south Florida spring days. I had to set the table outside and enjoy the wonderful weather while it lasted. This time of year reminds me of my grandmother as she would physically feel the changes in the atmosphere. She would call them los vientos de cuaresma, known as Lenten winds.
What are Lenten Winds (Vientos de Cuaresma)? They are winds of change. Due to changes in the atmospheric pressure, strong and warm winds from the south blow between the end of March and the month of April. They are very blustery days and these changes in air pressure can cause joint pain.
I love this Green Toile Bunnies in the Garden tablescape I designed for Pam Sunday. If you wish to read all about it and where I sourced the items, you can on the link. The brunch menu was simple as we were only four. I hope this menu inspires your to make or share any of these recipes at your next brunch or gathering.
