Themed dinner parties are a great way to entertain. I put together this Italian themed dinner party with recipes that are simple to make with pantry and refrigerator items, no fuss and absolutely delicious. I called this A Taste of Italy since different regions and flavors of Italy are represented top to bottom.
MENU
Pasta alla Puttanesca a hearty pasta dish made with pantry items. Originated in Naples.
Salmon with Lemon & Capers an elegant salmon with the Mediterranean flavors of Capri.
Chicken Marsala recipe coming soon – recipe by Lulu Eats.
Zabaione with Strawberries a creamy custard from northern Italy that is made with sweet wine.
I purchased the salmon fillet at Costco and their sommelier recommended Cadis Amarone Della Valpolicella from Italy. He assured me I would not be disappointed and he was right. Everyone loved it. It complemented the menu and was very smooth. I will go back and purchase another bottle or two. After all “la vita e troppo breve per bere vino cattivo”! Translation – life is too short to drink bad wine!
I hope you’re inspired to host an Italian dinner for family and friends. Gathering around the table and breaking bread with loved ones makes the heart full.
