I love this tablescape so much! It’s my favorite fall tablescape so far. From the gorgeous Spode plates to the lavender and plum linens, this table is warm and inviting. Such a perfect tablescape for a family fall gathering, Friendsgiving or Thanksgiving dinner.
I created this tablescape on my large farm table in my patio area. It was a beautiful south Florida day and the weather was breezy and sunny. The farm table was a Facebook Market place find, the chairs from Pier 1 Imports and the bench seating from Amazon. This table comfortably sits 10 guests.
INSPIRATION & CREATING THE LOOK
This table was inspired by these stunning Spode Woodland plates I found at HomeGoods this summer. I love everything about these plates – the scrolled and floral border, the beautiful animal images and the warm colors throughout. I quickly began to think of a rustic yet elegant table, and the details that would make that setting holiday worthy.
When I bought the plates, I also saw this lavender tablecloth by Cori. The design looked beautiful against the plate so I bought the tablecloth as well. I’ve included two links for the tablecloth here and here on Amazon. The plum napkins are from Williams Sonoma. They are currently discontinued, but many times they restock or sell similar colors. I love the quality of their napkins.
When the glass pumpkins showed up at HomeGoods in September, I bought a few of them. This large amber pumpkin became the centerpiece as it complements the colors on the plates, the glasses and the leaves. I set it over three layered wooden rounds to add height and visual interest. I picked up the brass deers and other woodland animals at an estate sale – when I saw them I knew I wanted to incorporate them into the tablescape for a whimsical touch. I can’t help but add a little whimsy. Are they not the cutest? You’ll see them again in future tablescapes.
Napkins and plates are layered over my Pier 1 Imports rattan chargers – an amazing Goodwill find. They are discontinued, but Amazon sells a similar one. The flatware is Mikasa’s Cameo flatware with gold trim. I bought mine at Macy’s a few years back and they don’t carry them anymore. You can source them on Amazon, Horchow and Replacements LTD.
There’s something about vintage glassware that is so special. I used three of my favorite glasses here – Hazel-Atlas Moroccan Amethyst glass, Libbey’s Gold Foliage water glass and Fostoria Jamestown glass. I found these at antique and thrift stores over the years, but you can also find them on Replacements LTD, Etsy and eBay. Knowing my grandmother had these Libbey glasses in 1957, makes them and this tablescape extra special. Because I only had eight Hazel Atlas Moroccan Amethyst glasses and eight purple napkins, I used two Fostoria Jamestown amber glasses and two gold napkins at the head and foot of the table. The amber and gold tones worked perfectly with the amethyst and purple tones. Don’t be afraid to use what you have and mix and match different patterns and tones. A beautiful table is comprised of many elements.
A dried floral bunch from HomeGoods, potpourri, fall leaves, votive candles and fairy string lights round out the finishing touches on the table. I tucked the small woodland animals throughout the floral bunch. Below right, you can barely see the cast iron black owl. In the last picture, you’ll see the small quail. I think they are so beautiful and add an authentic “woodland” touch.
I hope you find this tablescape inspirational and easy to recreate for your family gatherings. Wishing everyone an amazing Thanksgiving holiday! Please leave a comment below and let me know if you were inspired to recreate your own woodland table or how you are inspired by these plates.
