Lately I’ve seen so many beautiful pictures of Charleston on Instagram and I was inspired to put together this simple Charleston Summer Soirée. Charleston is such a dynamic city filled with beautiful architecture and amazing Southern food traditionally referred to as low country cooking. Rich with ingredients and seafood, this region gives us a wealth of comfort food recipes. I knew my menu needed to be easy and reflective of the region – seafood, peaches, sweet tea and a side.
For the tablescape, I decided on a vintage and cohesive amber and green look that complemented the dishes I was showcasing. The finishing touch was a simple floral arrangement of summer daisies and baby’s breath in a collection of vintage pressed glass vases. Simple and uncomplicated is always best.
Menu
Low Country Shrimp & Grits a savory shrimp and sausage dish served over cheesy grits.
Roasted Brussels Sprouts with Bacon and Balsamic Glaze roasted to perfection with a sweet and salty bite.
Peach Tart an amazing dessert with a hint of peach brandy.
Summer Spiked Sweet Tea a classic southern beverage kicked up a notch.
The most perfect and tender bite.
